Zhiye Chen, pianist Born in Yangzhou, a place of traditional Chinese poetry and legends, Zhiye Chen's childhood has been accompanied with piano and music. By destiny, she was sent to a boarding high school where most students were projected to be police or custom officers. However, it did not keep her away from music, on the contrary, it affirmed her to embrace music with the career goal. As the first place piano major applicant, she was admitted to Nanjing University of Arts, which is the art college with the longest history in China. Her former piano teachers include: Prof. Jialang Mo, Prof. Peng Peng, Prof. Olga Samosuyeva. After short lessons with Dr. Xiaofeng Wu in 2010, Zhiye decided to pursue her further piano study abroad and began working constantly with Dr. Xiaofeng Wu since June 2011. In addition to the recently garnered Concert Artist Prize in MIMF, Zhiye's honors include 2nd Prize at the 4th National Cadenza Piano Competition, 2011; Excellence Award, Nanjing University of the Arts Exhibits, 2011; 3rd Prize at the 1st China Association. of Science and Music Competition, 2010, etc. Zhiye Chen has received concert engagements in China during the 2012-2013 season.
