MIMF ACADEMY - 2018 SEASON
PIANO & VOICE PROGRAM: February 9~ 18, 2018
PROGRAM OF STUDY
Participants at the MIMF take part in many enriching musical opportunities, including:
Private Lessons
Participants have the chance to study with our faculty in a 1-on-1 environment.
Coachings
Vocal participants will also have private coaching sessions on musical styles, diction, and drama besides the lessons.
Masterclasses and Seminars
Public masterclasses and seminars are presented daily.
Courses
All participants are encouraged to participate in the music-related courses offered by the MIMF artist-faculty and staff. In addition, the MIMF offers courses in body awareness, including Alexander Technique.
Performances
Participants are encouraged to take part in the daily student recitals in various venues, such as Steinway Hall, Benzaquen Hall at the DiMenna Cneter, National Opera Center.
Competition
Participation in the competition is optional but strongly encouraged. Winners will be given a debut recital in NYC in the coming season. A full schedule of competition and performance dates will be announced to participants after enrollment.
Career Consultation
Participants learn about self-management as an artist, and have opportunity to have 1-one-1 consultation and Q & A session with MIMF consultants.
Cultural Experience
MIMF provides participants the opportunity to experience NYC in a cultural way, such as Metropolitan Opera backstage tour, Carnegie Hall tour, Caruso Museum, Piano factory tour, etc.

Full participation of the program: US $1,450. Scholarships may be available.

HOUSING OPTIONS
MIMF does NOT provide housing in New York City. Housing suggestions available upon request.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

2. Recommendation letter(s) is optional. May be submitted directly by the recommender(s) via email to [email protected] or by mail.
3. Recordings. Submit online; or send one copy of DVD or CD.
A. Online options including: [a] submit a link to your performance on any website/Youtube. [b] upload files (see 'Online Application Tools' below).
DO NOT email the files directly. Applicant’s full name must be indicated on the website or the file name of the uploaded files.
B. If choosing the mail-in option, please write/label clearly on the disc: applicant’s name and track information.
All DVDs and CDs must be compatible with U.S. playback equipment. Recordings will not be returned. Please do not send originals.
C. Piano recordings should include at least two compositions reflecting contrasting styles and periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or 20th/21st
Century) to demonstrate the applicant's musical and technical capabilities.
Voice recordings should include at least two works in different languages and contrasting style; must be accompanied by piano or orchestra.
4. Complete Repertoire list. Please include ALL works studied, indicating with an asterisk those works performed in public.
5. Application Fee can be sent via check (US only), credit card, Western Union, or Paypal.
